Living in the Light from Your Eyes

Poem by #Catharine Bramkamp Writer I found the beginning of this poem, all about living in the light of your eyes.  And I couldn’t help it, all I could think of was staring at my loved one for now 33 years would have been very tedious if I hadn’t had a couple of books to read.

What does the future hold?

#CatharineBramkampWriter poemDo we live in the moment?  Probably not, we plan, organize and wish for better futures, not realizing that this is the future we dreamt of in our childhood, or as teens.  I have to remember that.  Especially when I’m on the fourth floor of the Muse d’Orsay.

Everyone is Doing It

Poem: bridge locksAfter seeing so many 1,000s of locks on so many bridges, I wondered about the exclusively of it all. My favorite are the combination locks.  You know, just in case.

Life is
Broken cake
Taking just one bite
so much spills
to the floor

a waitress sweeps by
for the crumbs.

The painting is by Gerald Murphy – Wasp and Pear – 192929

What struck me was it was a gift to the Modern Art Museum from Archibald MacLeish, who wrote poetry as a cockroach who hit typewriter keys with his head.  The poems aren’t popular now.  And Murphy himself only painted 14 works.
