What this site keeps, and what it does not.
Short version: no cookies, no advertising trackers, and what you enter stays in your browser unless you choose to send it.
What you enter in the book idea starter
Everything you type in the book idea starter is saved in your browser's local storage on this device, so you can close the tab and pick up where you left off. It stays there until you press "Start over" in the starter or clear this site's data in your browser. It is not sent to Scribe Media or anyone else. Anyone else who uses the same browser profile on this device could see it, so use Start over on a shared computer.
When you reach your feedback, a plain-text summary of your answers and results is also kept in session storage (deleted when you close the tab), so that it can go with the optional form if, and only if, you choose to send it.
The copy and print buttons work entirely in your browser. The worksheets do not collect anything.
Counting visits
To know whether the site is useful, it counts events such as "a page was viewed", "the starter was started", "the starter was finished" with the overall result (for example "ready" or "shaping"), or "a worksheet was printed". Each count is stored only as a total per day. No cookie is set, and no IP address, device ID or other identifier is stored with the counts.
Links that carry campaign tags
If you arrived from a link with campaign tags in the address (such as utm_source), the site keeps those tags in session storage and sends them with the optional form, so Scribe knows which link brought you. Links from this site to scribemedia.com are tagged to show they came from here.
If you send the form
Your name, email, optional phone number, the page you sent it from and, if you used the starter, the summary of your answers and check results are sent to Scribe Media and stored in Scribe's customer system (HubSpot). Scribe uses them to get in touch with you and as described in the Scribe Media privacy policy. You can unsubscribe at any time.
Fonts and hosting
The site is hosted on Cloudflare and loads its fonts from Google Fonts. Like any web server, these receive standard request information such as your IP address in order to deliver the page.
